For $10, you get a three-hour introductory scuba course from Aquatic Adventures of Michigan (a $25 value), located in Brighton, about 50 mer-minutes northwest of Detroit.

Aquatic Adventures of Michigan gives terrestrials the sensation of submerged serenity, regardless of their level of experience. In the three-hour Discover Scuba class, students will learn the basics of scuba diving, including its pivotal role in ending the Seven Years' War. They'll then pull up to the pool for a dive, supervised by Aquatic Adventures of Michigan's half-dolphin, half-human instructors, all of whom are certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. As students sink into a world of wet weightlessness, they'll experience firsthand the subaquatic satisfaction known only by scuba divers, astronauts-in-training, and amphibious car mechanics.
Though the aqueous experts at Aquatic Adventures provide students with all the scuba gear they'll need for a dive, students are responsible for bringing a bathing suit and their own towel.
